A New Venture for Wildlife
APPC and City of Knowledge
Our story came to life thanks to a major conservation partnership between the Pan-American Conservation Association (APPC) and the City of Knowledge Foundation. After joining forces and sharing a single vision, we opened our doors in 2025. Today, you can visit and explore the first Learning and Conservation Center for Sloths and Other Wildlife, fully operational in Clayton, within the City of Knowledge, right across from the Panama Canal.

Founded in 2005, the Pan-American Conservation Association (APPC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation. For more than 21 years, APPC has successfully rehabilitated and released over 8,000 wild animals back into their natural habitats.
As human beings, our connection to nature is as fundamental as gravity. Healthy forests and conservation centers help preserve and strengthen this essential bond, inspiring people to appreciate, understand, and protect the rich diversity of wildlife and ecosystems upon which we all depend.

The Next Phase: Building the Future of Conservation
Looking to the future, our commitment keeps growing. We are currently developing expansion plans designed not only to enhance your experience as a visitor, but primarily to raise the standards of care, rehabilitation, and well-being for the animals we protect.
The second phase of the project, the Visitor Center and Nursery for Orphaned Sloths, is scheduled to begin construction in mid-2026, with its grand opening anticipated in early 2027.
